2011 Training Ride Schedule

PLEASE NOTE:  This schedule is current as of April 25th, 2010, however it is subject to change.  Official weekly emails from the Hill Country Ride will also announce details for the training rides for the upcoming weekend.

Our intention with the training program is to achieve two major things with you:

     1. Endurance These rides are arranged to get you out on your bike NOW and as often as you can between now and the “MAIN” event.  This will help build up your endurance so you can tackle all those miles on the big day.

     2. Social Network These rides offer the added benefit of helping you meet and learn from many other riders.  With riders of all experience levels, you can learn a great deal from one another.  You also make a lot of new friends, which makes ride-day much more enjoyable year after year!

Official Announcements  The training schedule below is subject to change due to a variety of reasons.  Official weekly announcements will be sent out through email by the Hill Country Ride.  The emails will direct you to information about the next training ride and any last minute changes.

Training Ride Cancellations  Any last minute changes or cancellations will be posted on the Hill Country Ride web-site and will be accompanied by an official email.  So if weather conditions are questionable, always check the Hill Country Ride web-site before you head out.  And if cancellations are anticipated far enough in advance, an official email will be sent out as well.

Weather Concerns  Weather conditions are one of the leading reasons a training ride could be cancelled.  Questionable weather will always be reviewed with a possibility of cancellation due to the safety of our riders.  Severe rain storms, lightening, and temperatures below 50 degrees will often be reasons we’ll cancel.  Always check the Hill Country Ride for AIDS official website for cancellations and updates.

Maps  As Maps for all biking routes are finalized, they will be accessible online at the Hill Country Ride web-site Training page and also online in the FILES section of the Yahoo Group.  Please print copies for yourself and bring them with you to every ride.
