BE A RIDER!

So you are interested in participating in the Hill Country Ride for AIDS, but you've got a lot of questions before you commit. First, thank you so much for considering us, you've made it here, so we know you are serious about doing something big this year that will help thousands of people. The Hill Country Ride for AIDS is more than just a charity bike ride, it's also a community of kindness where we support each other. Whether it's training, fundraising, or the Ride itself, you might be thinking "I can't do this," and every member of this community is here to tell you, "You can do this, and we can help."
Don't have a bike? Don't worry! You can rent one from Bicycle Sport Shop! Just be sure to get your reservation in by March 30th to guarantee your bike! You can also run!
Never done a ride like this? You're in good company. Neither have most of our riders. There is a route distance perfect for you. Everyone, (whether registered for the Ride or not), is invited to join us for training rides each weekend. No one will be left behind on training rides. Each training ride is attended by training ride leaders, who are riders of all levels, and are there to answer any questions about the Hill Country Ride. You can train for this, and we are here to help. Also, click here to check out our Rider Guide for more tips and information!
Not sure about fundraising? Raising your money is everyone's first fear - and often the first thing they get done! We have tools to make it easy, so easy that every year, the average rider has raised over $1,000! When you register for the Ride, you will be given access to your own page on our web site, your personal Ride Center. There, you can set up a Personal Page, use our suggested email messages to start asking your friends for support, install our Facebook applications, and use our iPhone application to fundraise on the go. If you are ever worried that you won't make your goal, we are here for you. We will help you throw a house party and we will brainstorm with you to find untapped resources. It's so much easier than you think!
Never ridden this far? There may be a point during the Ride season that you think to yourself, "I can't ride this far! What was I thinking!" Our Ride is fully supported. No matter what route you choose to ride, there will be volunteer teams to help you, to cheer you along and to help everyone get back safe and ready to celebrate your victories! You can do this, and we are here to help you get there.
You are not the first person to have these doubts. Every day hundreds of people hear the news that they are HIV positive and it becomes the biggest challenge they have ever faced. Each and every one of them, their mothers, their brothers, their loved ones have had the thought, "I can't do this." When you get on that bike, when you blow past your fundraising goal and when you reach the finish line it's you telling everyone in central Texas touched by HIV and AIDS, "You can do this! And I am here to help!"
We need you. Be a part of this community. It will change your life, and the lives of central Texans affected by HIV/AIDS forever.
