Who We Are

The Hill Country Ride for AIDS would not happen without the dedication and hard work of our volunteer Production Team. The numerous hours that the Production Team provides enable us to keep expenses to a minimum. We are honored to work with this amazing group all year to not only make the Hill Country Ride for AIDS the best it can be, but also to make sure the money raised goes to help those who need it most.

RECRUITMENT

Name:  Andy Wisner

Favorite thing about Ride Day: That's easy - the Finish Line - seeing everyone's face as they ride across and receive a medal, ice cold towel, and a big hug from David.
Why people should join your crew: We help grow this amazing Ride.
Random FUN Fact: I was the very LAST Rider to cross the finish in 2008. I had to sit out the previous year's Ride due to unexpected back surgery and was determined (and way under-trained) to do the 75 mile route. Having everyone cheer me in and "hoot and holler" for the Last Place Rider was a perfect glimpse of how loving and supportive the Ride community is. I'm a quick study and went back to the 50 the following year.

Favorite thing about Ride Day:  the anticipation of finding out the theme of the Pit Stops

Favorite thing about Ride Day: The calm before the storm! Getting there early in the morning and seeing all the riders, families, volunteers getting ready for the day ahead. The energy in the air is amazing, and it's a great opportunity to grab a breakfast taco and meet some new people.
Why people should join your crew: Because we can totally be the biggest AIDS ride in the country! And we need your help to get there.

Favorite thing about Ride Day:  The overwhelming love of the community. The delicious breakfast and snacks. Ice cold towel after crossing the finish line. And the shirtless men pre and post ride.
Why people should join your crew: Meet new people at social parties. Who doesn't like a fun party? Who doesn't like a fun party with free food and beverages?

Favorite thing about Ride Day: Watching people finish the ride who didn't think they could.
Why people should join your crew: Helping others prepare through training is really fun, and a real contribution to riders who are uncertain of themselves.
Random FUN Fact: Studies show that a cat falling from the 20th floor has a better chance of surviving than a cat that falls from the 7th floor. Also, my middle name is Lynn.

Why should people join my crew: the training rides are the start of our community feeling. It starts the momentum of meeting people who are helping others fight a terrible disease which has impacted so many.  Also, the training rides show the spirit of Ride - come out and be part of the spirit.

Why people should join your crew:  I am the owner and founder of Medicine in Motion, am a Sports Medicine MD, and I believe in integrated healthcare so I provide a variety of options for my patients including acupuncture and massage.
Random FUN Fact:  My favorite things to do are being involved in the community and helping out where I can.  I also enjoy sailing, swimming, and soccer.

Area of Specialty: I began as a bike mechanic, drove a truck for a pit stop and worked on logistics.  How amazing it is to be here getting to work along side such a dedicated and talented team!
Favorite thing on Ride Day:  The collective energy -- you can really feel it!
Why should people join my crew:  I don't care how you're involved with the Ride, I'm just thrilled that you are.
